My guitars....
(2). 1996 Parker Fly DeLuxe which is a great workhorse and so light to transport around. It's a double-humbuckered electric/acoustic, and it covers a lot of ground.
(3). a 1982 Tokai Stratocaster. Sunburst with a maple neck and Lindy Fralin pickups. (Mr. Fralin has, in my mind achieved the impossible, re-creating the sound of early Fender pickups. They are amazing. No one seems to know quite how he has achieved this but he has, and I have been a 'vintage' Fender player all my life and I know that sound.
(4). JR (Japanese Reissue) Telecaster. The body is an aged cream bound sunburst with a 1972 Fender Telecaster maple neck. Again, I have Lindy Fralin pickups installed in it.
For my acoustic, I have an old Taylor 412E. This is a killer sounding guitar that I use on all recording sessions that require acoustic, as it never ever let's me down. I also have a Hohner solid bodied classical style nylon electro / acoustic which spends most of it's life in it's case, but it does come out now and again. My amps are a Fender Blues Deluxe and my favourite, A Fender Blues Junior. It's small and has a really good tone. I don't really go in for effects except for an overdrive and a volume pedal and maybe Tremolo sometimes...I recently acquired a tube overdrive...A BK Butler Tube Driver with a 'bias' control. It is handbuilt by BK Butler himself in his workshop in Denver, Colorado. It is the best tube drive I have ever used and I have used them all. He has built them for Eric Johnson, Dave Gilmour and Joe Satriani.....more to come later....
